Continuing it yesterday's slide, potato prices fell by Rs 9.50, or 2.14 per cent, to Rs 434 per 100 kg in futures trade today, as traders reduced their positions, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, potato for October delivery fell by Rs 9.50, or 2.14 per cent, to Rs 434 per 100 kg, with a trading volume of 392 lots.
The potato for delivery in September contract declined by Rs 8.10, or 1.95 per cent, to Rs 408 per 100 kg, with an open interest of 236 lots, while March-month contract eased by Rs 1.10, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 563 per 100 kg, with a trading volume of 32 lots.
