Potato up 0.7% on rising demand

Commodity for delivery in May contract traded higher by 0.39%

Continued its rising streak for the third-straight day, potato prices gained 0.70% to Rs 1,318 per quintal in futures market today on rising demand in the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April gained Rs 9.10, or 0.70% to Rs 1,318 per quintal in business turnover of 13 lots.

Likewise, the potato for delivery in May contract traded higher by Rs 5.50, or 0.39% to Rs 1,419.50 per quintal in 100 lots.

Analysts said apart from rising demand in the spot market, restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly kept potato prices higher for the third-day at futures trade.
