Commodity for delivery in April moved up by 1.07%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato prices moved up by Rs 10.40 to Rs 988.50 per quintal in futures trade today on increased spot demand against restricted arrivals.

Trading sentiment improved further as traders enlarged holdings driven by surge in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in March rose by Rs 10.40, or 1.06%, to Rs 988.50 per quintal, with trading volume of 137 lots.

Potato for delivery in April also moved up by Rs 10.30, or 1.07%, to Rs 971.90 per quintal with a trade volume of 48 lots.

Analysts said increased demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up potato prices at futures trade.
