The Nifty may see a flat opening as the Asian markets are having a lacklustre note this morning. The SGX Nifty is up 13 points at 5,238.
On the Asian front, Hong Kong shares advanced in choppy trade early Friday on a rebound in energy-sector stocks after crude-oil prices rose overnight, even as heavyweight HSBC Holdings PLC declined on subdued cues from Wall Street. The Hang Seng Index gained 107 points to 22,816.
Nikkei shed 12 points to 10,606.Taiwan Weighted slipped 50 points to 8,786. Straits Times dropped 10 points to 3,094.On the other hand, Seoul Composite advanced 12 points to 2,020. Shanghai Composite was up eight points at 2,826.
The stocks to wwatch out for the day are EPC Industries,BEML,CESC and GMR Infrastructure.
