Pre-Market: Stocks to watch in trade on Tuesday

Grasim Industries, IOC, Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra and Dish TV are likely to be in the limelight this morning

Here are a few stocks that are likely to be in focus today:

Grasim Industries is likely to be in focus on news reports that it will sell its consumer products business to Kishore Biyani-led Future Consumer Enterprise Ltd on a slump sale basis.

IOC is set to see action as it is reportedly set to invest Rs 1,000 crore for raising its stake in Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL), which will use the money for expanding operations.

According to reports, GMR Airports, a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure, has acquired a 10% additional stake from Malaysia Airports (Mauritius) Private Limited for $80 million, raising its stake in Delhi International Airport Limited to 64%.
 

Essar Oil reported a halving in net profit in the fourth quarter of 2014-15 to Rs 546 crore from Rs 1,008 crore reported a year ago, due to the steep fall in crude oil prices.

Central Bank of India reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 666 crore for the fiscal ended March 31.

Gujarat NRE Coke reported narrowing of its net loss at Rs 82.79 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra and Dish TV are likely to announce its Q4 results during the day.

MARKET COMMENTARY

The markets are likely to open flat, tracking muted signals from the Asian front. The Nifty may retest its crucial technical level of 8,350 in trade today and its ability to hold this level would determine the immediate trend of the markets.

The Sensex had slid by fell 313 points or 1.1% at 27,643 and the Nifty has shed 88 points or 1% at 8,370 on Monday to mark its closest level since 19 May 2015.

There may be heightened volatility in this trading session ahead of expiry of the May derivatives contracts on Thursday.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian shares are trading in a range-bound manner in a holiday-thinned trading week. Japan's Nikkei 225 index  was trading almost unchanged at 20,400 and China's Shanghai index was trading 0.10% lower at 4,809. However, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was trading 1.37% higher at 28,370,

The U.S. markets were shut in the previous session due to the Memorial Day holiday.
