Prices of major commodities on the rise

Prices of toor dal, urad dal, gram dal and wheat went up, while other commodity rates remained unchanged in the wholesale foodgrains market here during the week under review.

Toor dal opened the week at Rs 6,600, its closing price last week, and jumped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 6,800 today.

Urad dal rose by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 7,000 from the previous week's closing rate of Rs 6,800. 

Gram dal and wheat increased by Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 2,950 and 1,850 from Rs 2,900 and Rs 1,800, respectively.

Moong dal (Rs 7,200), sugar (Rs 2,700), maida (Rs 1,700) and sooji (Rs 1,800) were traded at the same rate as the previous week.
