Profit Sales Snaps Rally

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex snapped its three-day winning streak on Tuesday, following profit-booking in cement, steel and technology stocks. However, select metal, automobile and state-run stocks continued to rally.

After trading in a range of 59.56 points, the Sensex ended four points lower at 3,889.41.

Meanwhile, at the National Stock Exchange, the S&P CNX Nifty index gained 1.90 points to close at 1,234.75, off the intra-day high of 1249.35.
