Prospective tie-up with McNally powers Areva

The stock finally ended at Rs 295 with a gain of 5%. Around 1,04 million shares changed hands at the counter today.

Areva is quoting at Rs 297, higher by Rs 17 or 6%, on the BSE. The stock opened at Rs 281, and has touched a high of Rs 306 and a low of Rs 281 thus far.

McNally Bharat Engineering Company is eyeing a foray into nuclear EPC (engineer-procure-construct) contracts with Areva, which has an understanding with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, for setting up nuclear reactors.

A total of 457,564 stocks have been traded on the BSE as against the two-week average of 109,318 shares.
