A N Shanbhag answers queries related to the National Saving Scheme, PPF and transfer of bonus shares

I have a query about whether the rate of interest for National Saving Scheme 1987 (NSS-87) has been changed from the existing 11 per cent per annum. There seems to be a change in case of NSS-92 but there is no information available regarding NSS-87.

I have your book Wonderland of Investment (20th Edition). In the book on page 153, you have stated that there is no change.

There was no change in the interest rate of NSS-87, till last year. However, the rates have been reduced drastically from 11 per cent to 7.5 per cent with effect from March 1, 2003 and this has been stated in my 22nd edition.
