Shares of railway-related companies are witnessing buying interest and are trading 2-5% higher on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in an otherwise subdued market.
Texmaco Rail & Engineering, Titagarh Wagons, Kalindee Rail Nirman (Engineers), Kernex Microsystems (India) and Stone India moved up 2-5% on the BSE. In comparison, the benchmark Sensex was down 0.08% at 27,846 at 1100 hours.
Among individual stocks, Texmaco Rail and Engineering and Kalindee Rail Nirman (Engineers) rallied 5% each at Rs 105 and Rs 107 respectively, Titagarh Wagons (Rs 267) and Kernex Microsystems (Rs 63) up 3% each, while Stone India up 2% at Rs 66 on BSE.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suresh Prabhu took charge as the new Union Railways Minister replacing Sadananda Gowda in a Cabinet reshuffle on Sunday.
