Ramco Industries has moved higher by 7% at Rs 216, bouncing back 16% from intra-day low on BSE, after the company reported a net profit at Rs 10.85 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 (Q2FY17). The company engaged in construction materials business had posted a net loss of Rs 1.04 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Total income from operations rose 14% to Rs 164 crore against Rs 144 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.
For the first six months (April to September) of the current financial year 2016-17, the company posted profit of Rs 41 crore against Rs 6 crore in the same period last year.
At 02:45 pm, the stock was up 3% at Rs 207, after hitting an intra-day low of Rs 186 before the announcements of Q2 results. The trading volumes on the counter jumped more than four-fold with a combined 1.21 million shares changed hands on BSE and NSE so far.
