Ranbaxy GDR looks up

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.87 per cent to 921.84 on September 13, 2004, in early morning trades.
 
Among ISDI global depository receipts, three advanced, one remained unchanged and three lost ground.
 
The gainers were Ranbaxy, up 13.82 per cent to $23.56 registering a volume of 15,430 GDRs, ITC up 3.70 per cent to $23.85 and a volume of 7,900 GDRs and Reliance up 2.31 per cent to $22.15 and a volume of 74,303 GDRs.
 
The losers were State Bank down 1.91 per cent to $23.05 registering a volume of 85,900 GDRs, Larsen & Toubro down 0.66 per cent to $18.15 and a volume of 3,000 GDRs and Bajaj Auto, down 0.46 per cent to $19.69.
 
The ISDI, representing the GDRs and ADRs of 15 actively traded companies, edged up by 0.19 per cent to 916.89 on September 10 as against the previous level of 915.18.
 
The ISDI price to earnings multiple also inched up by 0.12 per cent to 16.78 from 16.76, previously.
 
Among the ISDI GDRs and ADRs, there were seven gainers, six losers and two ruled steady and among ISDI ADRs, four advanced and four lost ground.
 
The major gainers were Dr Reddy's Lab up 4.27 per cent to $16.86, MTNL up 0.95 per cent to $6.35 and Wipro up 0.78 per cent to $18.19.
 
The major losers were VSNL, down 2.96 per cent to $7.20, Satyam Computer down 1.75 per cent to $23.05 and ICICI Bank down 0.23 per cent to $13.00.
 
The GDRs of Ranbaxy and Bajaj Auto also firmed up to $ 22.45 and $19.7307, respectively, from $21.64 and $19.46, previously. The global depository receipts of Larsen & Toubro was quoted lower at $18.15 as compared to $18.27.
