Ranbaxy GDR up 2.59%

The Instanex Skindia DR Index (ISDI) was up 0.81 per cent to 1,278.40 in the early morning trades on March 04, 2005 in the western markets. Among the ISDI global depository receipts, six advanced and one lost ground.

The major gainers were Ranbaxy up 2.59 per cent to $24.16, Bajaj Auto up 1.90 per cent to $24.70 and Hindalco up 1.58 per cent to $32.10. The only loser was State Bank of India down 0.75 per cent to $44.75.

The ISDI, representing the GDRs and ADRs of 15 actively traded companies, recovered marginally by 0.80 per cent to 1,275.87 on March 3, from the previous level of 1,265.80.

Among the ISDI GDRs and ADRs, there were twelve gainers and three losers and among ISDI ADRs, seven ADRs advanced and one ADR lost ground. The major gainers were MTNL up 4.15 per cent to $7.03, Wipro up 2.11 per cent to $21.75 and Infosys up 1.74 per cent to $76.41. The only loser was Dr. Reddy's down 0.34 per cent to $17.34.
