Realty index drags Sensex

After attempting a slight pull back, the Sensex has again slipped deeper into the red to touch a low of 16,898. The index is now at 16, 962, down 170 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 5,033, down 50 points.

Among the top gainers, Sun Pharma and ITC have advanced around 2% each to Rs 1,425 and Rs 237, respectively.

Grasim Industries has slipped 6% to Rs 2,58. DLF, Bharti Airtel, SBI and Hindalco are down over 2% each.

Reliance, Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates, ACC, ICICI Bank and Sterlite have declined over 1.5% each.

The market breadth is negative. Out of 2,295 shares traded, 1,350 have declined and 888 have advanced so far on the BSE.

 

THE BSE Realty index has slipped around 2% to 4,433.
