Realty index helps Sensex recover

The Realty index has helped the Sensex to recover. The index is now near its high at 14,543, up 120 points.

The BSE Realty index has moved up 3% to 3,357.

Grasim has added 3% to Rs 2,392.

Jaiprakash Associates and ICICI Bank gained  2.7% each at Rs 219 and Rs 708, respectively.

DLF, Hindalco and Reliance communications have advanced over 2.5% each to Rs 328, Rs 2,372 and Rs 309, respectively.

Sterlite, ACC, TCS and Bharti Airtel are the  other gainers.

Meanwhile, Tata Motors has slipped 3% to Rs 345.

Mahindra & Mahindra and ONGC have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 704 and Rs 1,027, respectively.

 

The market breadth is positive, out of 2,460 shares traded, 1,639 have advanced and 730 have declined so far on the BSE.
