Recovery continues... Sensex down 841pts

The Sensex has recovered sharply from the day's low of 15,332, and is now down 841 points at 16,764.

The NSE Nifty is down 297 points at 4,913.

Mahindra & Mahindra has tumbled 9.6% to Rs 608, and Ambuja Cements has slumped 9% to Rs 116.

Cipla and Reliance Energy have plunged over 8% each to Rs 174 and Rs 1,630, respectively.

ONGC and Tata Steel have shed 7.5% each to Rs 1,030 and Rs 670, respectively. Ranbaxy has slipped 7% to Rs 338.

HDFC Bank has dropped 6.5% to Rs 1,420. Reliance Communications and Hindustan Unilever are down 6% each at Rs 576 and Rs 188, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 3.6% to Rs 2,139. Bharti Airtel has advanced 1.5% to Rs 841, and Larsen & Toubro has added 1% to Rs 3,730.

Out of 2,359 stocks traded so far, 2,231 have declined, 103 have advanced and 25 are unchanged.
