Refined soya oil prices plunged by Rs 3.30, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 493 per 10 kg in futures market today, as speculators reduced their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, refined soya oil for October-month plunged by Rs 3.30, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 493 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 55 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 2.90, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 495.25 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 686 lots.
Market analysts said speculators reduced their positions due to subdued demand in the spot market and pulled down the refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
