Refined palmolein declines on weak demand

Refined palmolein prices continued to decline at the oils and oilseeds market here today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers. 

Groundnut oil, other edible oil however closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support. Meanwhile in non-edible segment, linseed oil rose owing to fresh offtake from paint and allied industries.

Castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial moved up on renewed industrial as well as export demand.

Castorseeds futures also firmed up on heavy speculative buying on the back of firm spot market demand. In the edible section, refined palmolein fell by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 563 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 568.

 

Groundnut oil held steady at Rs 830 per 10 kg. Turning to non-edible section, linseed oil gained Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 655 as compared to Rs 650 previously.

Castorseeds bold edged up by Rs 15 per 100 kg to Rs 5,065 from Rs 5,050 and castor oil commercial looked up by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 1,043 as against Rs 1,040.

Moving to futures section, castorseeds for June delivery resumed higher at Rs 4,727 and strengthened further to close at Rs 4,790 over its weekend's closing level of Rs 4,717, disclosing a steep rise of Rs 73 per tonne.
