Refined palmolein prices edged up in an otherwise sluggish oils and oilseeds market here today on mild retail offtake. In the futures market, castorseeds gained moderately owing to fresh export enquiries.
Meanwhile, groundnut oil, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all ended stable in the absence of any major buying activity.
In edible segment, refined palmolein looked up to Rs 553 per 10 kg from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 552. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 970 per 10 kg.
Turning to futures section, castorseeds for September delivery opened lower at Rs 4,965, but later shot up to Rs 5,020 before settling at Rs 5,002 as against Rs 4,971 previously, showing a modest gain of Rs 31 per tonne.
However, castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all ended unaltered at Rs 5,125, Rs 1,055 and Rs 720 respectively.
