Refined palmolein prices recovered smartly in an otherwise sluggish oils and oilseeds market here today due to fresh demand from retailers amidst higher Malaysian advices.
Meanwhile, groundnut oil held steady on lack of any worthwhile buying activity.
Castorseed bold and castoril commercials declined owing to subdued demand from shippers from soap industries.
Castorseed futures also showed volatility and witnessed stockists selling amidst declining export orders.
In the edible oil segment, refined palmolein spurted by Rs 8 per 10 kg to Rs 584 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 576, while groundnut oil ended unchanged at Rs 755 per 10 kg.

Turning to non-edible section, castorseed bold fell by Rs 50 per 100 kg to Rs 5,450 from Rs 5,500 previously and castor oil commercial moved down by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,120 as against Rs 1,130 on Tuesday.
Linseed oil closed stable at Rs 670 per 10 kg.
Moving to futures section, castorseeds for March delivery resumed sharply lower at Rs 4,760 and moved in range of Rs 4,771 and Rs 4,720 before settling at Rs 4,761 as compared to Rs 4,811 previously, showing a further loss of Rs 50 per tonne.
