Refined soya oil fell by Rs 4.90, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 489.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today, as traders indulged in profit-booking at higher levels, influenced by falling demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, refined soya oil for October contract fell Rs 4.90, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 489.90 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 46 lots.

Similarly, the refined soya oil for delivery in September contract declined by Rs 4.05, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 483.40 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 32 lots, while November h delivery eased by Rs 4.05, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 489.35 per 10 kg, with a business volume of four lots.

Fall in refined soya oil was mostly attributed to speculators, who indulged in profit taking at higher levels due to fall in demand in the spot market, traders said.
