Refined soya oil extended gain for the second straight day by adding Rs 2.55 to Rs 612.30 per 10 kg in futures market today, as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, refined soya oil for February-month gained Rs 2.55, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 612.30 per 10 kg, with a business volume of single lot.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in January moved up by Rs 2.30, or 0.39 per cent to Rs 597.75 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of four lots.

Market analysts said increased buying by speculators, supported by rising demand in the spot market due to the marriage season, helped refined soya oil futures prices to trade higher.
