Continuing its losing streak for the third straight day, refined soya oil prices fell by Rs 7.35, or 1.48 per cent, to Rs 490 per 10 kg in futures trade today, on sluggish spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, refined soya oil for September-month fell Rs 7.35, or 1.48 per cent, to Rs 490 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 681 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in October-month contract also dropped by Rs 5.90, 1.20 per cent, to Rs 487 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 57 lots.

Market analysts said weak demand and adequate supplies at physical markets, mainly put pressure on refined soya oil futures.
