Refined soya oil prices moved up marginally by Rs 3.10 to Rs 638.90 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders enlarged their positions in tandem with a firm spot market trend.

Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in August rose by Rs 3.10, or 0.49%, to Rs 638.90 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of two lots.

Similarly, July delivery for the oil surged by Rs 1.95, or 0.31%, to Rs 640.95 per 10 kg in two lots.

Analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
