Refined oil futures prices extended gains by adding Rs 5.40, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 525.95 per 10 kg today on sustained buying by speculators, led by a rise in demand in the ongoing festive demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, refined soya oil delivery for November rose by Rs 5.40, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 525.95 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of two lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October moved up Rs 3.65, or 0.71 per cent to Rs 516.30 per 10 kg, with a business volume of one lot.

Traders said rising demand in the spot markets for the ongoing festive and marriage season mainly led to a rise in refined soya oil futures prices.
