Refined soya oil futures rise as spot demand picks up

Refined oil prices inched up by Rs 2.95 to Rs 604.55 per 10 kgs in futures trade today as traders enlarged their positions, triggered by a firm trend at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for January month contract gained Rs 2.95, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 604.55 per 10 kgs with a business turnover of 2 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December month traded higher by Rs 1.30, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 586.80 per 10 kg in a single lot.

Analysts said a firm trend at the domestic markets following the ongoing marriage season, influenced the refined soya oil prices in the futures trade.
