Refined soya oil futures trade higher on good demand

Refined soya oil prices traded higher by Rs 2.90 or 0.65 per cent to Rs 451.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today on rising demand supported by the ongoing marriage season.

Better trend in overseas markets also influenced the trading sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for June-month contract moved up by Rs 2.90, or 0.65 per cent to Rs 451.50 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 423 lots.

The oil for delivery in July-month contract also edged up by Rs 2.60, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 453 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 292 lots.

Marketmen said, rising demand in spot market in view of marriage season helped refined soya oil prices to trade higher at futures market.

Meanwhile, palm oil for August-delivery gained 0.6 per cent to $750 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
