Refined soya oil prices rose by Rs 2.50 or 0.56 per cent to Rs 450 per 10 kg in futures trade today on increased demand in spot markets in view of marriage season.

Firming trend in overseas markets also supported the uptrend. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for July-month contract rose by Rs 2.50, or 0.56 per cent to Rs 450 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 302 lots.

Meanwhile, palm oil for August-delivery rose 0.8 per cent to $751 a metric tonne on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange.
