Refined oil prices extended gains and rose by Rs 6.90 to Rs 628 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders indulged enlarging their positions, driven by a firming trend at spot markets on marriage season demand.

Restricted arrivals from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for June delivery gained Rs 6.90, or 1.11% to Rs 628 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of seven lots.

Analysts said firming trend at the spot market on the back of marriage season demand mainly led to rise in refined soya oil futures prices.
