Refined soya oil prices rose by Rs 2.70 to Rs 788.20 per 10 kg in the futures market today, as speculators created fresh positions, tracking a firming trend at the spot market on pick up in demand in view of marriage season.

At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 2.70, or 0.34%, to Rs 788.20 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 1,30,170 lots.

The May contract gained Rs 1.50, or 0.19%, to Rs 780.30 per 10 kg in 84,980 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise to pick-up in demand in the spot market for the marriage season.
