Refined soya oil prices traded higher by Rs 1.30 or 0.29 per cent to Rs 443.90 per 10 kg in futures market today, on short covering by speculators as well as good demand at spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for June contract gained Rs 1.30, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 443.90 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 40,060 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contract edged up Rs 1.25, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 446.60 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 87,220 lots.

Market experts said short-covering by speculators due to rise in demand at spot markets, helped refined soya oil prices to show improvement at the futures market.
