Refined soya oil prices rose by 0.50% to Rs 702.75 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions on pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June moved up by Rs 3.50, or 0.50%, to Rs 702.75 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,32,140 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in May edged up by Rs 1.50, or 0.21%, to Rs 719.20 per 10 kg in 69,630 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on rising demand in the spot market mainly helped refined soya oil prices to trade higher at futures trade.
