Refined soya oil up 0.5% on strong demand

Oil for delivery in August contract edged up by 0.29%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Refined soya oil remained higher for the second day and prices rose further by 0.51% to Rs 697 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in July added Rs 3.55, or 0.51% to Rs 697 per 10 kg with an open interest of 53,740 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in August contract edged up by Rs 2, or 0.29% to Rs 684.95 per 10 kg in 1,56,730 lots.

Analysts said apart from firming trend at spot market on strong demand, restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly kept refined soya oil higher at futures trade.
