Refined soya oil prices rose by Rs 8.10 to Rs 616.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as traders enlarged their positions in tandem with a firm trend in spot market.
Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 8.10, or 1.33%, to Rs 616.80 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of seven lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April gained Rs 5.90, or 0.98%, to Rs 606 per 10 kg, with a business volume of 14 lots.
Analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
