Repoll in 13 polling stations in the Arunachal West Parliamentary constituency began here this morning amidst tight security.

While eight of the polling stations where repoll has been ordered following incidents of booth capturing and breaking of EVMs, are in the state capital, one is in Doimukh nere here and two each in upper and lower Subansiri districts respectively.

Over 61 per cent polling was recorded in the two constituencies in the border tribal state on the poll day on April 16 last. However reports from interior places are yet to reach because of lack of communication facilities.

Though there are four candidates in the fray, the fight is mainly between the ruling Congress candidate Takam Sanjoy and the sitting BJP MP Kiren Rijiju.

Both the Congress and BJP candidates blamed each other for the booth capturing incidents on the poll day.
