Result hopes drive up Tata Motors

 The counter moved up on expectations of a good result for the quarter ended 30 September 2003.

 The counter has been on the rise in the last few months. Tata Motors reported strong vehicle sales for August 2003. Its total sales jumped 37 per cent to 24,831 vehicles.

 Domestic growth as well as exports are providing momentum to Tata Motors. Last month the company rolled out an improved version of the small car (Indica) tailored to specifications provided by British carmaker MG Rover, which will sell the vehicle in Europe from November 2003.
