Rise In Input Costs Lifts Polymers Rates

The price of polymers has been rising in stage in the last few months. Prices of some types have risen by as much as 107 per cent in three months. Most of the hikes were on account of rise in input costs. However, there has been no commensurate increase in domestic polymer demand.

According to analysts, the hike in polymer rise has been supported by more speculative advance bookings fearing further hike in crude oil prices on fears of the US-led attack on Iraq.
