Rupa & Co rises on strong Q2 nos

Rupa & Company has moved higher by 5% to Rs 153 on reporting 47% year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in net profit to Rs 16.06 crore for the quarter ended September 30, compared to Rs 10.94 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Net sales grew 23% to Rs 234 crore on a y-o-y basis.

The company, engaged in the apparels and accessories business, has seen an improvement in profit margins. Operating profit margins (OPM) increased to 12.37% from 10.99% and net profit margins (NPM) to 6.44% from 5.75% during the recently concluded quarter.

The stock opened at Rs 146 and touched a high of Rs 165 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The trading volumes on the counter surged eight-fold, with as many as  around 47,905 shares changing hands on the counter till 1134 hours.
