Sail & #8217;S Hot Metal Capacity Utilisation At 95% In June

The integrated steel plants of the Steel Authority of India excluding the Indian Iron and Steel Company Ltd (IISCO) produced 95 per cent of their respective targets at 8.85 lakh tonne of the hot metal during June 2001.

The plants produced 8.20 lakh tonne of crude steel and 7.31 lakh tonne of saleable steel during the month meeting 92 and 94 per cent of their targets,respectively, an official statement said here.

The Bhillai Steel Plant produced 2.66 lakh tonne of saleable steel in June achieving 92 per cent of their target while the Durgapur and Rourkela Steel Plants have crossed their targets of 1.08 lakh tonne and 1.05 lakh tonne producing 1.15 lakh tonne and 1.07 lakh tonne, respectively, it added.

 

The production of steel in the integrated and other steel plants of SAIL during the first quarter of this fiscal stood at 2.36 million tonne representing 94 per cent of their targets, the release added.
