Saria turned weak and traded Rs 200 per quintal lower in the wholesale steel market today due to reduced offtake by stockists. Other steel varieties, however, continued to trade around previous closing levels in the absence of worthwhile activity.

Marketmen said reduced offtake by stockists followed by fall in demand, pulled down saria prices. In the saria segment, kamdhenu 8-mm, 10-mm, 12-mm and 16-25 mm traded Rs 200 each lower at Rs 31,900, Rs 31,900, Rs 31,700 and Rs 31,900 per tonne, respectively.
