Saunf, pepper decline on lack of buying support

Saunf and pepper prices fell up to Rs 500 per quintal in the wholesale kirana market today on adequate stocks against lack of buying support from stockists and retailers.

Traders said adequate stocks in the market against lack of buying support from stockists and retailers pulled down the wholesale saunf and pepper prices.

Black pepper common declined by Rs 400 to Rs 22,500- 22,700 and soanf also lost Rs 500 to Rs 8,500-13,500 per quintal.

Ajwain 12,700-19,200, black pepper common 22,500-22,700 betelnut (kg) 120-145, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,110-1,125 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,210-1,360

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,310--1,360, cardamom (colour robin) 1,370-1,400, cardamom bold 1,400-1,420, cardamom extra (bold) 1,500-1,520 and cloves (kg) 340-400
