Sea of red across Asia

The Asian markets continue to move in red. The Hang Seng has shed 590 points or 3% to 19,749.

The Nikkei has declined 267 points or 2.5% to 10,089.

The Shanghai Composite Index has slipped 54 points or 2% to 2,942.

The Taiwan Weighted Index has plunged 315 points or 4% to 7,227.

The Seoul Composite and the Straits Times are down 3% and 2%, respectively.

The Asian indices have opened in the red, taking a cue from the carnage witnessed in the US markets overnight.

The Hang Seng is quoting at 19,790, weaker by 551 points or 2.7% and Nikkei is at 10,062, lower by 293 points or 2.8%.

 

Straits Times is at 2,689, lower by 55 points or 2%, Seoul Composite is at 1,567, weaker by 49 points or 3% and Taiwan Weighted is at 7,301, down 240 points or 3.1%.

Shanghai Composite has shed 45 points or 1.5% at 2,949.
