Sebi issues norms to calculate margin requirements for intra-day snapshots

Sebi clarified that the change is only for the purpose of verification of upfront collection of margins from clients

Capital markets regulator Sebi on Tuesday issued a frame­work for calculating margin requirements to be consid­ered for the intraday snap­shots in the derivatives segments. The new frame­work will come into effect from August 1, the Securities and Exchange Board of India said in a circular. 

“It has been decided that the margin requirements to be consid­ered for the intra-day snapshots, in derivatives segments, shall be calculated based on the fixed Beginning of Day margin parameters," the regulator said.
