Sebi looks to contract manpower in three cities

Functions of the additional manpower would include supervision and helping with investor education

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is looking to hire an agency on contract to meet manpower requirements for dealing with investor grievances and investor education.

It is looking to hire agencies to provide manpower in the form of seven people in Ahmedabad, three in Jaipur and another three in Indore, according to a tender notice on the regulator's website. Their functions would include supervision and helping with investor education. The market regulator is also looking to hire people for grievance tracking and on the dispatch and communication desk, according to the tender.

It has invited interested parties to apply by August 19.
 

The duties of the supervisor include follow-up with companies and intermediaries for redressal of grievances as well as to meet walk-in investors at Sebi office for assistance. Data operators will be involved in functions including Categorisation and coding of nature of investor grievance(s) and capturing the data on SCORES, the Sebi Complaints Redressal System. The tracking desk will update reports on action taken by companies and intermediaries.

“Recruitment, training and replacement costs shall be made by the agency. Agency shall note that the staff employed by it is purely on temporary basis for the requirement of Sebi to fulfil your contractual obligation and for all benefits relating to the employment is solely responsibility of the agency,” said the tender.

“The tender shall have provision to enhance / decrease the number of people deployed according to the need which may increase/decrease in future,” it added.
