Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is planning to probe the auditors report of Financial Technologies (FTIL).
"We will ascertain the facts from the company," said Rajeev Kumar Agarwal, whole time member, Sebi said today on the sidelines of an event here.
The auditor of Financial Technologies -- Deloitte Haskins & Sells -- had said that the company’s results for the year ending March 31, 2013 should no longer be relied upon due to the crisis at group company National Spot Exchange (NSEL). The company had disclosed this in a stock exchange release on Tuesday evening.
A Financial Technologies spokesperson said, "FTIL has not received any communication from SEBI on your mentioned query hence we cannot comment. As a listed entity we have informed all material facts to FTIL shareholders vide our notices to stock exchanges."
The company said on Tuesday it deferring the passing of three items from its 25th annual general meeting on Wednesday.The items include 2012-13 audited results, dividends and re-appointment of Deloitte Haskins & Sells as its chartered accountant.
