The benchmark BSE 200 index surged over 7 per cent last week, as the markets greeted the new year on a cheerful note. Similarly, our Smart Portfolios fund managers net worth too showed remarkable gains in the region of 15-28 per cent each, barring that of Amar Ambani.

Since the inception of Smart Portfolios, the benchmark index is down 32.8 per cent, while net asset values of two of our fund managers Kashyap Pujara and Anand Agarwal are down around 14 per cent each. Sadanad Shetty’s portfolio value has depreciated by 5.5 per cent. On the other hand, Amar Ambani continues to remain in green territory.

 

In value terms, the BSE 200 index appreciated 81 points last week to 1,197, and net worth now stands at Rs 6.72 lakh as against the initial corpus of Rs 10 lakh on September 1, 2008.

Among our fund managers, Anand Agarwal’s portfolio rose to Rs 8.57 lakh (up Rs 36,000) when compared with Rs 8.21 lakh the week before, Kashyap Pujara’s net worth increased to Rs 8.63 lakh from Rs 8.38 lakh – up Rs 25,000. Sadanand’s Shetty’s net worth now stands at Rs 9.45 lakh, up Rs 22,000, from Rs 9.23 lakh. Amar Ambani’s portfolio value, however, stands unchanged at Rs 10.03 lakh.
