Select base metals firm up on industrial demand

Copper and brass prices firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockists offtake coupled with higher industrial demand.  

Meanwhile, tin and copper sheets cutting declined owing to subdued demand from consumer industries amid bearish trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).   

Copper utensils scrap strengthened by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 435 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 430 and copper scrap heavy rose by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 470 as compared to Rs 466 previously. 

Copper armature moved up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 460.   

Brass utensils scrap and brass sheets cutting both inched up by a rupee per kg each to Rs 315 and Rs 324. 

 

However, tin dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,650 from last weekend level of Rs 1,660 and copper sheets cutting edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 453 against Rs 455 previously.
