Select base metals rise on better offtake

Select base metals firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on better offtake from consumer industries, amidst rising trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).  

Meanwhile, tin, zinc, lead and aluminium ingots declined on subdued demand from industrial users. 

Nickel prices strengthened by Rs 4.49 per kilo to Rs 1,180 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 1,175.51.

Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings both rose by Rs 3.49 per kilo each to Rs 269 and Rs 280 as against Rs 265.51 and Rs 276.51 previously.

Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture and copper sheet cutting moved up by Rs 2.49 per kilo each to Rs 402, Rs 393 and Rs 387 respectively.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils, copper wire bar and aluminium utensils scrap edged up by Rs 1.49 per kilo each to Rs 411, Rs 368, Rs 439 and Rs 103.

However, tin dropped by Rs 20.51 per kilo to Rs 1,315 from overnight closing level of Rs 1,335.51.

Zinc eased by Rs 1.51 per kilo to Rs 132 as against Rs 133.51 yesterday. Lead and aluminium ingots softened by Rs 0.51 per kilo each to Rs 116 and Rs 128.
