Select base metals rise on firm global cues

Nickel, copper, brass and zinc prices rose at the non-ferrous metal market here today, due to increased buying from stockists and traders, triggered by a positive sentiment at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Nickel strengthened by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 1,110 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,090 and copper scrap heavy by Rs 9 per kilo to Rs 361 as against Rs 352 last weekend.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar, all rose by Rs 8 per kilo each to Rs 365, Rs 354, Rs 338 and Rs 393, respectively.

 

Copper sheets cutting and brass utensils scrap, both firmed up by Rs 7 per kilo to Rs 353 and Rs 255.

Brass sheets cutting gained by Rs 6 per kilo to Rs 265. Lead inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 105. However, zinc softened by a rupee per kilo to Rs 106.
