Select base metals up on global sentiment

Select base metals rose at the non- ferrous metal market here today due to higher off-take from industrial users amid firming trend in London Metal Exchange (LME).

Meanwhile, brass, aluminium and lead ended marginally lower on poor demand from consumer industries.

Nickel hardened by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 1,170 from last weekend's close of Rs 1,160 and tin strengthened by Rs 5 per kilo to 1,330, as against Rs 1,325.
    
Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both gained by Rs 4 per kilo each to Rs 403 and Rs 431, respectively from Rs 399 and Rs 427 of last Saturday.
    
Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture and copper utensils scrap moved up by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 395, Rs 386 and Rs 363, respectively.
    
Zinc inched up by a rupee per kilo to Rs 130.
    
However, brass sheets cutting, aluminium utensils scrap and lead all eased by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 273, Rs 99 and Rs 117.
